Niseko, Rusutsu & Furano are located on the sub-arctic northern island of Hokkaido which receives an enormous amount of snow each season from the Siberian desert storm systems that march across the Sea of Japan from Russia with amazing regularity from November to March. Rusutsu, located close to Niseko offers the same great powder as Niseko, but tends to be less crowded. Rusutsu is family friendly with children’s facilities such as the Kids’ Park and the day-care centre.
The larger areas of Hakuba (7 interlinked resorts) and Shiga Kogen (21 interlinked resorts) are on the main island of Honshu and both offer huge areas and great diversity of terrain.
Nozawa Onsen, located in the northern part of Nagano, offers Japanese tradition, spirit and hospitality with beautiful old streets full of history, culture and festivals. It is a hot spring and ski resort village of 5000 inhabitants.
